Calculate your square inches

Calculate your backing and batting size
Use the second calculator to see what size your batting and backing need to be. This calculator will take your original quilt top length and width, and add the requisite 6 inches to each side along with the top and bottom.
Calculate your binding length
Use this third calculator if you are adding binding to your quilt and you need to know how long to cut your binding. An additional 20 inches is added for turning corners and overlapping the ends. If you are short on fabric, don’t despair — we have a few tricks.
